Sales and Purchasing Manager

The Job:

We are looking for a skilled motor trade professional to join our growing business and management team. Managing a team of 4 buyers / brokers, you will be responsible for the following:

  1. Recruiting, developing, coaching and training a Team of 4 to achieve their volume and profitability objectives
  2. Ensuring that the relevant activity KPI's are achieved
  3. Developing a portfolio of effective trade partnerships to maximise profitability and stock turnover
  4. Developing a sector-leading and effective Team ethos - we might not ever be the biggest but we can certainly be the best
  5. Ensuring customer satisfaction throughout

The Candidate:

This is a very hands-on role, tactical with some involvement in strategy as well. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of exceeding objectives, experience of people management / development / recruitment; an ability to value cars accurately; a broad and in-depth experience and understanding of the use car market; high business and personal expectations and standards; a "success is not an option" work ethic.

Vehicle Disposals / Re-Marketing Manager

The Job:

Maximising both volume and profit/unit by the effective development of, and remarketing to, trade contacts by manufacturer, by model etc. Working in tandem with the office and road based purchasing teams to ensure all opportunities maximised. To develop an automated dealer re-marketing portal.

The Candidate:

In-depth understanding of the used car market. Strong relationship building skills. Strong used car valuation and appraisal skills. Salary is negotiable, depending on experience.

Vehicle Broker / Purchaser

The Job:

  1. Following-up website generated enquiries from people and companies looking to sell their cars
  2. Requalifying these enquiries to ensure accurate data supplied to Purchasing Manager for valuation purposes
  3. Building rapport with, engaging and educating the customer
  4. Analyse current market place and valuation guides for examples of competing similar cars for sale
  5. Re-marketing selected cars to internal and external databases
  6. Develop and maintain own dealer contact portfolio
  7. Negotiating and closing the customer
  8. Liaise with administration and accounts departments to ensure efficient and timely viewings and purchases
  9. Manage customer experience throughout
  10. Plan daily activity to ensure effective enquiry management

The Candidate:

The ideal candidates will have either a proven, relevant and successful motor trade / motor sales background or proven and successful b2b sales experience (although neither of these are essential as full training will be provided).

More important are a strong and effective work ethic, the ability and drive to exceed targets, innate commercialism, self-motivation, close attention to detail whilst working at pace and a passion for excellence. The £OTE is realistic and the ideal candidates will have the skill-set to exceed this.

Trainee Vehicle Inspectors / Purchasers

The Job:

You'll be travelling across the UK within a company car, assisting our Road-Based Vehicle Inpsectors / Buyers with their daily duties whilst earning and learning on the job. You'll be taught how to professionally appraise and buy any make / model of car from Ferrari to Ford.

Duties include:

  • Navigate & Drive across the UK (returning home every day).
  • Research cars prior to arrival.
  • Visit and help appraise cars at the customer's address.
  • Research and Evaluate damage / repairs / service history etc.
  • Successfully communicate verbally and orally with people at all levels throughout the day.
  • Manage and accurately complete the paperwork.
  • Ensure the company cars are kept in a good working order.

The Candidate:

Essential Requirements:

This is NOT a 9-5 office job. Obviously you'll possess the ability to learn and the natural drive to succeed; along with bags of Integrity, Determination, Self Motivation and Resolve. You'll be travelling across the UK on a daily basis and working in all-weather conditions you'll need to be physically fit.

  • Minimum 22 years old and hold a full clean UK driving licence for a minimum of 2 years with no more than 6 points; subject to status (for insurance purposes).
  • Ideally (but not essential) at least 1 yrs experience driving and navigating long distances in the UK
  • Educated to at least a GCSE level inc. English & Maths.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Great attention to detail, well organised and have a methodical approach.
  • Well presented and of smart appearance at all times.
  • Ideally (but not essential) a minimum of 1 yr experience working within a customer facing / sales environment.
  • Able to work on your own and as part of a team.
